The Runaway Strings are a husband and wife duo from Ararat. Taking inspiration from a range of genres they play an original blend of blues, folk, ragtime and country inspired tunes. Sounding like a tavern packed with everyone from The Pogues through to Paul Kelly, Bob Dylan, Lead Belly, Dolly Parton and Jack White, The Runaway Strings have taken their high energy tunes from Melbourne Cabaret clubs to outdoor festivals, pubs, town halls and everywhere in between.
